H.G. Wells V.S. Jules Verne
The fathers of Science Fiction, and two of the greatest writers of all time!
H.G. Wells as well a Jules Verne are BOTH considered the fathers of this wonderful genre that has captivated our imagination like no other!
They lived around the same time, Verne was French, while Wells was English, and they are well known for their science-fiction novels. But you can't really decide who is better because these two men wrote different types of science fiction books, and I say they were both really great!
Jules Verne was a fan of traveling and seafaring. This is clearly shown in his novels. He wrote stories on fantastic voyages and adventures which were thought to be impossible back then, but probable nowadays. This man started the sub-genre of Sci-fi in which the positive aspects of technology and discovery are shown.
Herbet Wells on the other hand, worried about the future of man-kind. His stories mostly deal with the possible negative consequences of tecnology and ways we might destroy ourselfs. His novels, started the other sub-genre of dark Sci-fi in which it reminds us to be careful of what we do.
